Congress president Rahul Gandhi was highlighting the fact that as PM, Narendra Modi hasn’t held a single press conference till date.

Rahul GandhiHyderabad: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday took a ‘part-time prime minister’ jibe at PM Narendra Modi, while asking him hold press conferences. Taking a dig at PM Narendra Modi’s campaign for election in five states that have either gone or are going to polls, Rahul said since the campaigning was over, Modi could ‘spare some time for his part-time job as PM’.

“Dear Mr Modi, Now that campaigning is over, hope you can spare some time for your part-time job as PM. Btw its been 1,654 days since u became PM. Still no press conference? Some pics from our Hyderabad PC today. Try one someday, it’s fun having questions thrown at you! (sic)” Rahul tweeted.

Earlier, the Congress chief expressed confidence that the Congress-led alliance will win the Telangana Assembly Elections ‘hands down’.

While refusing to answer the question of chief ministership saying it was premature to ask the same, Rahul said Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief and caretaker CM K Chandrasekhar Rao was displaying signs of “nervousness and insecurity”.

“It is frankly premature to decide who the CM candidate is going to be. Our first goal is to remove Mr. KCR (as caretaker Chief Minister Rao is referred to by many) and TRS, who have damaged the dream of Telangana. We are together committed to that goal. I won’t get into how many seats we (the Congress-led alliance) will win but I am pretty confident and most of the (opinion) polls are saying that we are going to win the elections,” Rahul said.

“Also if you listen to the Chief Minister’s body language…and the type of comments he is making in some of his speeches…I think yesterday he was quite abusive…he abused a couple of people. Earlier in his speech also he was abusive…these are all signs of nervousness and insecurity developing… I think he said he is going to take rest. These are all signs of reality coming to him,” he added.
